# KRC20 Tokens

Understand KRC20 token holdings, marketplace listings, deployment, and minting.

KRC20 is a token protocol on Kaspa. A KRC20 token is separate from KAS, the native coin used for network fees. Tokens are created by independent projects and users; appearing in Kasanova does not establish their authenticity or value.

## Use tokens in Kasanova

* Browse tokens in **Explore → Tokens**, or use search.
* Open a token to see the information, chart, supply, and available actions.
* View enabled token holdings in **Wallet**.
* [Buy](/tokens/buying.md), [list for sale](/tokens/selling.md), or [transfer](/tokens/transferring.md) supported tokens.
* [Deploy a token](/tokens/creating.md), or [mint](/tokens/minting.md) one whose supply is still open.

You need KAS for network fees and any protocol or service charges. The review screen shows the applicable costs before authorization.

## Supply and balances

A token's maximum supply, mint limit, decimals, and pre-mint settings determine how it is issued. Deploying a token does not automatically give its creator the entire supply.

Token balances and operations also depend on protocol indexing. A chain transaction can confirm before the token view updates. Check the transaction details before repeating an operation.

If Tokens is hidden, use [Customize Kasanova](/settings/customization.md).
