Your Wallet's Independence
This is important: your KAS and tokens are not stored by Kasanova. If Kasanova disappeared tomorrow, your money would be fine.
Here's Why
You own your wallet.
Your seed phrase = your wallet
Your seed phrase is stored on YOUR phone, not our servers
We never touch your funds
The blockchain is permanent.
All your transactions are recorded on the Kaspa blockchain forever
The blockchain exists independently of Kasanova
No company can delete or freeze your transactions
You can access your wallet anywhere.
Your seed phrase unlocks your wallet on any Kasanova app
You can restore it on other Kaspa wallet apps that use the same derivation standard
You can restore it on a friend's phone if you wanted
What This Means
If Kasanova:
Shuts down: Your funds are still there. Get your seed phrase and restore on any device.
Gets hacked: Your funds are still safe (we don't store them). Only your app would be affected.
Disappears entirely: The blockchain remembers everything. Your KAS is still in your wallet.
Goes out of business: Doesn't matter. You have the seed phrase.
The scary scenario some people worry about: "What if the company takes my money?" Can't happen. We literally cannot take your money—we don't have access to it.
Why This Is Different From Banks
Traditional wallet (like your bank):
Bank holds your money
Bank controls access
Bank can freeze your account, deny service, go bankrupt
You trust the bank
Kasanova wallet (non-custodial):
YOU hold your money (via seed phrase)
You control access (via your phone)
Kasanova cannot freeze or restrict you
You trust the blockchain, not any company
The Responsibility
This freedom comes with responsibility:
No "forgot password" recovery: Your seed phrase is the only key
No customer service refund: You sent KAS to the wrong address? Too bad, it's on the blockchain forever
You're responsible for backups: We can't recover a lost seed phrase
Security is on you: If someone steals your seed phrase, they own your wallet
Before You Panic
This doesn't mean Kasanova is unstable. We're here to stay, and we're actively developing. But if something happens to us, you're protected because your wallet was never dependent on us in the first place.
That's the whole point of crypto and non-custodial wallets.
