Creating Your Wallet
Create a new Kaspa wallet in Kasanova in just a few steps.
Before You Begin
What You'll Need
Kasanova installed on your device
5-10 minutes of uninterrupted time
Paper and pen (for writing down your seed phrase)
A safe place to store your seed phrase
Important Security Note
Your seed phrase is the only way to recover your wallet. Kasanova cannot recover it for you if you lose it.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Launch Kasanova
Open the Kasanova app. You'll see the welcome screen with two options:
Create New Wallet
Import Existing Wallet
Tap Create New Wallet.
2. Set Up Biometric Authentication
Kasanova will ask to enable biometric authentication:
iOS: Face ID or Touch ID
Android: Fingerprint or Face Unlock
This adds a crucial security layer. We strongly recommend enabling it.
Options:
✅ Enable biometrics (recommended)
Skip for now (you can enable it later in Settings)
3. Generate Your Seed Phrase
Kasanova will generate a unique 12-word seed phrase for you.
What is a seed phrase? Your seed phrase is a human-readable backup of your private keys. These 12 words can restore your entire wallet on any Kaspa-compatible wallet.
Important:
Generated entirely on your device
Never transmitted to Kasanova servers
Cannot be recovered if lost
Anyone with your seed phrase can access your funds
4. Write Down Your Seed Phrase
🔴 CRITICAL STEP
You'll see 12 words displayed on screen. You must write them down in order.
Best Practices:
✅ Write on paper (not digitally)
✅ Use pen (not pencil that can fade)
✅ Write clearly and legibly
✅ Number each word (1-12)
✅ Double-check spelling
❌ Never take a screenshot
❌ Never store in cloud storage
❌ Never email to yourself
❌ Never share with anyone
Where to store your seed phrase:
Physical safe or lockbox
Safety deposit box
Fireproof document bag
Multiple secure locations (optional)
5. Verify Your Seed Phrase
To ensure you wrote it down correctly, Kasanova will ask you to verify:
You'll be prompted to enter specific words from your seed phrase (e.g., "Enter word #3" and "Enter word #9").
Type each word exactly as shown, then tap Confirm.
If you make a mistake:
Go back and check your written copy
Ensure spelling is exact
Verify word order
6. Create a Wallet Name (Optional)
Give your wallet a name for easy identification:
Default: "My Kaspa Wallet"
Custom: e.g., "Savings," "Trading," "HODL Wallet"
This is just a label—you can change it later in Settings.
7. Review Security Reminders
Kasanova will display important security reminders:
✅ I have written down my seed phrase ✅ I understand Kasanova cannot recover my seed phrase ✅ I will never share my seed phrase with anyone
Check all boxes and tap Complete Setup.

Common Questions
Can I create multiple wallets?
Currently, Kasanova supports one wallet per installation. To manage multiple wallets:
Use multiple devices, or
Import/export using seed phrases
What if I lose my device?
Your funds are safe as long as you have your seed phrase. Simply:
Install Kasanova on a new device
Choose Import Existing Wallet
Enter your seed phrase
See: Importing an Existing Wallet
Can I change my seed phrase later?
No. Your seed phrase is permanently tied to your wallet. To get a new seed phrase, you must:
Create a new wallet (new seed phrase)
Transfer funds from old wallet to new wallet
What if I forgot to write down my seed phrase?
If your wallet is still accessible:
Go to Settings > Security > Show Seed Phrase
Authenticate with biometrics
Write it down immediately
Store securely
If you've lost access and never wrote it down, your funds are permanently lost. This is why writing it down during setup is critical.
