Common Scam Types

1. Seed Phrase Phishing

The Scam:

  • Website/app asks for your seed phrase

  • Fake "wallet verification"

  • "Claim rewards" requiring seed phrase

  • "Wallet migration" scam

Red Flags:

  • ANY request for seed phrase

  • "Verify your wallet"

  • "Synchronization issue"

  • "Security update required"

Reality:

  • nacho.kas vs nachо.kas (Cyrillic 'о')

  • Hopes you'll buy by mistake

  • Slightly different spelling

  • New deployment

  • Scammers create look-alikes

5. Giveaway Scams

The Scam:

  • Social media posts

  • Fake verification badges

  • Asking you to send first

  • Promise of multiplication

  • Fake social media accounts

  • "Verify by sending KAS"

  • Real giveaways never ask you to send first

  • Scammers impersonate famous people

  • You send, they keep, you get nothing

6. Marketplace Scams

The Scam:

  • Seller asks to trade off-platform

  • "Send KAS first, then I'll send token/NFT"

If You've Been Scammed

Immediate Actions:
