Understanding Your Address

What is a Kaspa Address?

Your address is a unique identifier like an email address:

kaspa:qzxyz1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890

Format:

  • Starts with kaspa: (mainnet) or kaspatest: (testnet)

  • 61-63 characters long

  • Case-sensitive

  • Includes checksum for error detection

Can I Reuse My Address?

Yes! You can reuse the same address multiple times:

  • Safe to share publicly

  • Works for unlimited receives

  • All transactions go to the same wallet

Privacy consideration: While reusing addresses is safe, using different addresses for different purposes improves privacy. Kasanova automatically generates new addresses when needed.

Multiple Addresses

Kasanova generates multiple addresses from your seed phrase:

  • Receive address: Your primary address (shown in Receive screen)

  • Change addresses: Used automatically for transaction change

  • All addresses link to the same wallet and balance

To generate a new receive address: Currently, Kasanova shows your primary address. Multiple address management is coming in a future update.

Receiving from Different Sources

From Another Kasanova User

In person:

  1. Show your QR code

  2. They scan it

  3. Done!

Remotely:

  1. Share your address via message

  2. They paste it into their Send screen

  3. Confirm receipt

From an Exchange (Binance, Coinbase, etc.)

To withdraw KAS from an exchange to Kasanova:

  1. In Kasanova: Copy your receive address

  2. In Exchange: Go to Withdraw/Send

  3. Select KAS or Kaspa

  4. Paste your Kasanova address

  5. Enter amount

  6. Confirm withdrawal (may require 2FA)

  7. Wait for exchange processing + blockchain confirmation

Timing:

  • Exchange processing: 5 minutes to 24 hours (varies by exchange)

  • Blockchain confirmation: ~1 second after broadcast

Important:

  • ⚠️ Only send KAS to a KAS address

  • ⚠️ Sending other cryptocurrencies to your KAS address will result in permanent loss

  • ⚠️ Always send a small test amount first

From a Mining Pool

Receiving mining payouts:

  1. Copy your Kasanova receive address

  2. Add it to your mining pool account (payout address)

  3. Configure minimum payout threshold

  4. Pool automatically sends when threshold is reached

Tips:

  • Set a reasonable threshold (e.g., 100-1000 KAS) to minimize fees

  • Some pools require address confirmation before first payout

  • Payouts usually process once or twice per day

From a Payment or Invoice

If someone is paying you:

  1. Send them your address

  2. They send the payment

  3. You confirm receipt in Activity feed

Professional invoicing: Include in your invoice:

  • Amount in KAS

  • Your receive address

  • Payment deadline (if applicable)

  • Purpose/reference number

Receiving Tokens (KRC20)

KRC20 tokens use the same address as KAS:

  • One address receives both KAS and tokens

  • No need to switch addresses

  • Token automatically detected

To receive tokens:

  1. Share your normal receive address

  2. Sender sends tokens (not KAS)

  3. Tokens appear in your Tokens tab

See: KRC20 Tokens Guide

Tips for Receiving

Best Practices

Always double-check addresses

  • Copy/paste carefully

  • Use QR codes when possible

  • Verify first few and last few characters

Send test transactions first

  • For large amounts, ask sender to send small test first

  • Confirm receipt before sending larger amount

Keep records

  • Note who sent you funds and why

  • Useful for accounting and taxes

  • Activity feed keeps history

Things to Avoid

Don't share screenshots of QR codes digitally

  • Someone could intercept and receive funds meant for you

  • Share QR codes only in person or via secure channels

Don't reuse addresses across wallets

  • Your Kasanova address is unique to Kasanova

  • Don't use it with other Kaspa wallets expecting same balance

Don't accept funds to addresses you don't control

  • Only share addresses from your Kasanova wallet

  • Exchange addresses and custodial addresses are not yours
